Low Vision
Low vision is a condition caused by eye disease, in which visual acuity is 20/70 or poorer in the better-seeing eye and cannot be corrected or improved with regular eyeglasses. Low vision is a daunting condition to deal with and can interfere with a person’s daily activities, making tasks nearly impossible. Low vision can affect people of all ages and even be a condition that some are born with. (Scheiman, Scheiman, and Whittaker)
Sage Vision recommends that if you believe you may have low vision, that you get a proper evaluation from your low vision specialist as your first step. Your doctor will take the time to assess the severity of your eye condition and treatment and/or solutions can be mapped out. We advise you to never buy any products off the internet and rather work with a Sage Vision team member who specializes in low vision solutions. There are many products and programs out there, and Sage wants to make sure we find the right one that works for you!
